The higher-ups decided to take a step back and reassess after the disappointing response to the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Instead of churning out mediocre content, they shifted focus towards Disney+ for additional projects, while brainstorming their next move. Their solution is intriguing, as it appears that Star Wars plans to release multiple movies in the coming years and observe which ones gain traction. The first of these upcoming releases is The Mandalorian & Grogu, which promises to be a hit given the popularity of Din Djarin’s Disney+ series. However, once this show concludes, there are only question marks regarding what follows.

Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling’s film titled “Star Wars: Starfighter” seems intriguing, and with a talented cast at its helm, it’s well-equipped to handle a story set in a distant galaxy. Additionally, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s movie regarding the New Jedi Order is anticipated, as it could potentially bring back Rey Skywalker. However, the status of this project is uncertain at the moment. Among all the forthcoming Star Wars films, “Dawn of the Jedi“, directed by James Mangold, stands out as the most promising.

The film’s details are scant, with only knowing it centers around the first Jedi and is set 25,000 years before any Star Wars timeline project. However, a recently unveiled map detailing the galaxy’s expanse provides a foundation for the central conflict that the movie will explore.

This interactive tool offers an entertaining representation of the distances between famous celestial bodies like Coruscant and Hoth. It holds at least one concealed detail, which can be found in the G11 space. The Unknown Regions are where you’ll find Rakata Prime, native planet to the Rakatans, a species yet to make their live-action debut. However, if Mangold and Co. draw inspiration from the Dark Horse comics, the Rakatans’ history could potentially be woven into the narrative of Dawn of the Jedi.

The Rakatans Came Into Conflict With the Original Jedi

Prior to Disney’s canon, it was the Rakatans who constructed the vast and intimidating Infinite Empire, a military power that subjugated countless galaxies through sophisticated technology. They were equally captivated by the Force and had their own cadre of dark side practitioners called Force Hounds. These cosmic explorers scoured the galaxy to discover planets rich in the Force energy field. Their journey eventually led them to Tython, where they encountered the Je’daii, a community focused on achieving harmony within the Force.

The emergence of the Infinite Empire overwhelmed the Je’daii, leading them to divide into two factions: one dedicated to the light and another aligned with the dark. Over extended periods, they clashed in battles. With the disappearance of the Infinite Empire, the Jedi Order came into being and played a vital role within the Galactic Republic.

Mangold might choose not to base his film on the storyline from the Dawn of the Jedi comics, as he may have unique concepts for the beginnings of the Jedi Order. At this point, this theory is plausible, given that the Rakatans are back in the Star Wars canon. Luthen Rael mentioned them in the first season of Star Wars: Andor, hinting at their fearsome reputation as beings who enslaved many across the galaxy. It seems unlikely that they would introduce the Infinite Empire without providing a glimpse into its composition.
