Star Wars Officially Ends a Major Mandalorian & Grogu Criticism in One Line

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Mando and Grogu’s first movie, and there’s been a lot of discussion about whether it will live up to expectations. The main concern seems to be that the film might just feel like an extended version of a typical The Mandalorian episode – a two-hour adventure that doesn’t feel special enough for the big screen.

Initially, many thought the new movie would be a self-contained story. However, with the release of trailers, teasers, and various reports, it’s becoming clear that the film is building towards something much larger – possibly a galaxy-wide war. Disney’s trailer included the tagline, “On May 22, one mission will change the galaxy,” which, for dedicated fans familiar with the established timeline and future series, hints at the scope of what’s to come.

Based on trailers, promotional materials, and details about the upcoming live-action Ahsoka series, it increasingly appears that the story will be significantly larger in scope than just another The Mandalorian episode. The second season of Ahsoka takes place after the events of the movie and includes large-scale fleet battles between Thrawn and Ahsoka, suggesting the bounty hunters’ plans likely failed. Combined with the fact that Colonel Ward (Sigourney Weaver) is trying to prevent a full-scale war between the New Republic and the remnants of the Empire, it seems the series will be a much more complex and intense story.

While some fans worry the new films might not live up to the quality of the original show, the official description is encouraging. It explains that with the evil Empire defeated, remaining Imperial leaders are still a threat across the galaxy. The newly formed New Republic teams up with the skilled bounty hunter Din Djarin and his apprentice, Grogu, to safeguard the freedom the Rebellion won.
