Starfield Developer Has “More to Share” This Week, Todd Howard “Appreciates the Passionate Feedback”

After speculation about a March announcement, Bethesda Game Studios confirmed they’ll be sharing new details about Starfield this week. Responding to composer Inon Zur’s praise of Todd Howard as a visionary, Bethesda jokingly said Howard’s only true vision comes from spotting the best routes in EA College Football 26.

The creative director has acknowledged all the strong reactions to Starfield. While Todd Howard previously stated that new content was planned for the game – which saw a large initial player base but didn’t maintain the same level of popularity as other Bethesda titles – he clarified that this isn’t a full sequel like Starfield 2.0. Instead, the new content is designed for players who are already enjoying the game.

If you didn’t immediately enjoy Starfield, or if you stopped playing it because it didn’t grab you, or if you found parts of it dull, it’s unlikely that will suddenly change.

Starfield fans can look forward to several updates, according to creative producer Tim Lamb. These include new gameplay features and improvements to space travel, making it more enjoyable and worthwhile. Additionally, new story content is planned, and hints suggest it might involve the Terran Armada, possibly as a playable faction.

A PS5 version of the game, which has been rumored for a while, is expected to launch on April 7th. Pre-orders are said to start around March 17th or 18th, and the standard edition will likely cost around £49.99 or €44.99. This could mean a US price of $49.99, and potentially a price reduction for the game on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

I’ve been following Starfield closely! If you want a deep dive, you can check out my review of the original game. It’s gotten a lot better since then with updates, but honestly, the first big DLC, Shattered Space, was a bit of a letdown for me.
