Bethesda has shared details about Starfield before, but they’ve released another trailer specifically for the PS5 version. Following yesterday’s announcement of the Free Lanes update, this new trailer highlights what PlayStation players can look forward to.
Okay, so the DualSense controller really adds to the immersion! The triggers actually change how they feel depending on what weapon I’m using – even when I’m piloting a starship, which is awesome. Plus, the controller’s built-in speaker plays things like audio logs and ship-to-ship comms, making it feel like I’m really there. And the light bar? It shows my health, changing color to let me know how badly I’m getting wrecked… or if I’m totally dominating!
You can also use the Touchpad to quickly perform actions like changing your view, exploring the game world, or opening important menus. If you have a PS5 Pro, you can choose between two graphics settings: ‘Pro Visual’ focuses on the best possible image quality at 30 frames per second, and ‘Pro Performance’ prioritizes a smoother, faster experience at 60 frames per second.
Bethesda has confirmed that both versions of Starfield on PlayStation 5 will use PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, though the exact resolution for the standard ‘Pro Performance’ version wasn’t disclosed. Starfield will be available on PS5 starting April 7th for $49.99. A Premium Edition, including the Shattered Space story and the Terran Armada expansion, is available for $70, or you can purchase the Terran Armada expansion separately for an additional $10.
