A popular PC game currently available for free on Steam will become a paid game on April 16th. It’s been free since its release in 2024, but the developer needs to start charging to cover the costs of running the game’s multiplayer servers. If you want to keep playing, be sure to add it to your Steam library before April 16th. Good news for Steam Deck owners: the game is verified and runs well on Valve’s handheld console.
For the next four days, PC gamers with Steam accounts can download and play GGTech Studios’ 3D platformer, eWorlds, completely free. While you can enjoy the game on your own, it also offers online co-op play, which requires server upkeep. To cover those costs and keep the servers running, the game will soon switch to a paid model, but it will only cost a small $3.99.
Very Positive Rating on Steam
Currently, eWorlds has 325 reviews on Steam, and an impressive 87% of players recommend the game. This has earned it a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, which is one of the highest ratings possible on the platform.
One user review says they enjoy the game because it reminds them of Super Mario Odyssey, a personal favorite. They specifically noted that the way the character moves and the levels are designed feel quite similar to that game.
One player shared that they enjoyed playing and finishing the game, describing it as a straightforward and compact platformer.
If you’re thinking of trying this free PC game, do it soon! Most players say it takes a few hours to finish, but the latter part isn’t as strong as the beginning. It’s similar to Super Mario Odyssey and Astro Bot, though made on a much smaller scale. It’s a good value for a free game, and even worth the $3.99 price tag, but keep in mind it’s a small indie project.
If you’re not interested in this free Steam game, don’t worry – there are other choices! Steam is currently giving away two more PC games for free that you might enjoy instead.
