Man, so many big PC games have come out lately! It’s been really interesting to watch the Steam charts change. Last week, Forza Horizon 6 jumped in and knocked Subnautica 2 down a bit. But as of May 26th, something new is number one. It’s not 007: First Light – though that one’s getting popular too – it’s Paralives! Everyone’s been waiting for a good Sims 4 competitor, and it looks like Paralives is it, taking the top spot on Steam.
For years, fans of life simulation games like The Sims have been hoping for a truly great new option. While inZOI tried to fill that gap, many found it demanding on their computers and lacking in content during its early release. Now, Paralives appears to be the game players have been waiting for. It entered Early Access on May 25th and immediately became the best-selling game on Steam. Beyond the reasonable $39.99 price, players seem genuinely pleased with what the game offers.
Paralives Off to a Strong Start with Very Positive Reviews & High Player Counts

I was a little surprised by the $40 price for the Early Access version of Paralives. While a launch discount brings it down to $35.99, that still seems like a lot for a game that isn’t fully finished. Despite the price, fans who have been waiting since the game was first announced in 2019 don’t seem to mind.
Wow, I was so excited for Paralives, and it totally delivered on launch day! I was amazed to hear it hit over 78,600 players in just 24 hours. Paralives Studios said they sold 250,000 copies in the first 8 hours – that’s incredible! It even became the top-selling game on Steam for the week. I remember inZOI had a big launch too, but the player numbers dropped off quickly after. So far, though, Paralives seems to be keeping people hooked, which is really promising for anyone hoping for a new Sims-like experience!
The life simulation game Paralives launched in Early Access yesterday and has already received over 3,200 reviews on Steam. A remarkable 89% of those reviews are positive, earning it a “Very Positive” rating. Considering the long wait fans endured for this game, it could have easily disappointed. Especially since the initial release doesn’t include all of its planned features. However, Paralives seems to be meeting expectations, which is great news for those of us who’ve been eagerly anticipating it.
Players recognize that Paralives, in its early access phase, still has some bugs and performance problems. However, overall the game is launching well. Many reviews highlight its engaging storytelling tools and unique atmosphere. Specifically, people are impressed with the art style and the level of detail. Plus, those who struggled with the demanding requirements of inZOI appreciate that Paralives runs well even on laptops.
The developers plan for Paralives to be in Early Access for around two years, during which they’ll be adding lots of new features. The current version already includes character and building tools, and gives a good feel for how the open-world life simulation will work. Paralives Studio has also promised that all updates will be free – there will be no paid DLC. This means the Early Access version is just the first step for Paralives, and it’s looking like a promising beginning.
Paralives is now available on PC and Mac through Steam as an Early Access title. It costs $39.99, but you can get it for 10% off until June 1st.
