Shift Up recently shared a new trailer showcasing their progress on the sequel to Stellar Blade, now titled Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. The game appears to be leaning into a cyberpunk style, similar to other popular titles. However, Shift Up has stated that the game is still in early development and a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
The trailer opens with a bustling city scene, featuring a train arriving at a packed station. We see glimpses of different locations within the city before finally meeting the main character. This new protagonist, named Evie, shares a similar name with Eve from Stellar Blade. The trailer suggests Evie will show more emotion and have a wider range of expressions than Eve did.
The trailer then shows what appears to be actual gameplay, with the main character moving through the clouds while following someone. But things quickly turn scary when those she’s tracking begin to transform into monstrous creatures, forcing her to prepare for a fight.
In Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, the main character primarily fights using hand-to-hand combat. It’s currently unknown if she’ll gain access to different weapons to expand her fighting options, but for now, she relies on quick punches and powerful kicks to defeat enemies.
The graphics have improved dramatically, and details like how clothes and hair move look remarkably realistic.
