Season 2 of IT: Welcome to Derry Will Be The Most Important of the Franchise
Fans are excited about the second season of IT: Welcome to Derry, but the biggest news might be where the story is headed. While Season 1 explored Derry’s past in 1962, Season 2 will go even further back to 1935, introducing a completely new set of characters. Director Andy Muscietti has hinted that audiences will meet “The Bradley Gang.”
As fans may remember, Season 1 included a car containing victims from the infamous Bradley Gang shootout of 1935. This event involved the gang robbing stores in Derry, and when residents fought back, the entire gang was killed. Now, there’s a possibility this incident is connected to Pennywise, making a return to 1935 in Season 2 to explore it further particularly intriguing.
As a fan, I’m really excited about the show going back to 1935! We met Ingrid Kersh in the first season – she’s that creepy old woman Beverly encounters, and she’s connected to Pennywise. Because we already saw glimpses of her back then, revisiting that time period means we’ll get to learn so much more about her story and how it all ties into Pennywise’s terrifying pattern of resurfacing every 27 years. It’s a great way to deepen the mythology of the series.
