Ingrid has officially joined the character list in Street Fighter 6. Capcom has also announced that this update, which adds Ingrid, is the final piece of content for the game’s single-player World Tour mode.
Every character currently available in Street Fighter 6 is playable in the World Tour mode, allowing players to complete challenges with customized characters. Players can learn moves from all the fighters, and Ingrid will be included in this feature as well. However, any new characters added to the game in the future won’t appear in World Tour.
The company announced on social media that Ingrid will be the last character to get new story content for the World Tour when it’s released. However, all the World Tour content that’s already available will still be playable.
Capcom has carefully stated that new characters won’t be available in World Tour immediately at launch. It’s unclear if they plan to add more characters through updates in the future, but it hasn’t been ruled out.
Players will still be able to teach their avatars new moves through the Avatar Arcade. However, this announcement confirms that there won’t be any more story chapters added to the World Tour mode.
World Tour stands out as a strong single-player experience in a fighting game world typically focused on multiplayer. It features a complete story campaign and extensive character customization. Players will explore different areas while engaging in classic one-on-one fights, similar to Street Fighter, and larger group battles. Along the way, you’ll encounter well-known Street Fighter 6 characters like Ryu and Chun-Li, each with their own mini-story. Playing through these stories helps you learn their fighting styles and unlocks costumes you can use for your own character.
A new trailer has showcased Ingrid’s debut in Street Fighter 6, revealing details about her role in World Tour mode, where players will interact with her unique story. Beyond World Tour, Ingrid features a dedicated Arcade story, combo challenges, and options to customize her appearance.
I’ve been checking out Ingrid, and I’m really impressed! They released a trailer earlier this week showing off all her cool moves. She’s got a really complete moveset, which means she can control how far away she is from opponents really well. Plus, you can make her attacks even stronger by collecting Sun Crests during the fight, which is a neat mechanic!
With Ingrid’s arrival comes a variety of new ways to play. Random Avatar Matches let players compete against each other in multiplayer battles where everyone starts with the same character. For those who prefer to play alone, Avatar Arcade offers a single-player experience where you can unlock rewards and improve your avatar.
Street Fighter 6 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
