Here’s your first look at stalwart Sagat’s gameplay in Street Fighter 6.
Just as anticipated, the tall Thai combatant utilizes his long limbs to quickly cover ground, while his famous Tiger Punch allows him to strike effectively both at close range and from afar.
It appears that his moveset includes more wrestling-like techniques compared to previous Street Fighter games, though it could be due to the editing style of the trailer.
On August 5th, he will be debuting, accompanied by a freshly minted stage called “Proud Spire.” Reminiscent of past Thailand stages, it seems to draw inspiration from the nation’s historical sites, such as Ayutthaya, with its grand Buddha standing prominently in the backdrop.

At the initial release, there will be two options, one of which is a design inspired by his Muay Thai attire from Street Fighter 2.
Kick off! We’ve begun a fresh chapter for Street Fighter content, and if you’re eager to join in, grab the Year 3 Pass directly from the PlayStation Store.
As a reminder, the upcoming characters include:
- Sagat: Summer 2025

- Alex: Early Spring 2026
- Ingrid: Late Spring 2026
