Dhalsim is certainly one of the more well-known characters in the Street Fighter series, yet it’s unlikely that anyone would use the term “hot” to describe him.
With his spindly legs, skull pendant around his neck, and a thick, white beard in Street Fighter 6 – at the very least – this character exudes an air of mystery instead of being appetizing. (Of course, one’s preferences vary, so no judgment is passed here!)
In Legendary’s forthcoming live-action adaptation, he will indeed be exceptionally hot. Hotter than a blazing yoga fire. Hotter than any comparison one might think of.
The reason is that, as reported by Deadline, Vidyut Jammwal (from Commando) has been chosen for the role.
The actor will make his first appearance in Hollywood with this role, and it’s said that he’s chosen it strategically to gain recognition among U.S. viewers. Frankly, there’s nothing more stylish than playing Dhalsim.
That means the weird and wonderful cast for this film now looks like the following:
- Andrew Koji as Ryu
- Noah Centineo as Ken Masters
- David Dastmalchian as M. Bison
- Jason Momoa as Blanka
- Roman Reigns as Akuma
- Callina Liang as Chun-Li
- 50 Cent as Balrog
- Orville Peck as Vega
- Andrew Schulz as Dan
- Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim
Despite not having details about the film’s storyline yet, it has been confirmed that Kitao Sakurai, who worked on Bad Trip, will be taking up the directorial role.
It seems we’re nearly done filling out our main characters, but it’ll certainly add intrigue if veterans such as Zangief, E. Honda, Cammy, and others make an appearance in the lineup too.
