Last Saturday on Strictly Come Dancing, the show celebrated its ‘Icons’ week with great dances and glamorous outfits. While the performances were a hit, some viewers were disappointed to see two previously eliminated contestants unable to participate due to injuries.
Stefan Dennis, known for his role on the show Neighbours, had to leave the Strictly Come Dancing competition earlier this week due to a torn calf muscle. This means he and his dance partner, Dianne Buswell, will no longer be competing.
Before the show began tonight (October 25th), hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman sent a message of encouragement to Stefan, who was watching from the audience.
Claudia informed viewers that Stefan and Dianne were unfortunately unable to continue in the competition this week because Stefan was injured. She then addressed Stefan directly, saying, “We love you, Stefan,” as he was present in the studio.
Tess added: “Lots of love to you Stefan from all of us.”
The moment felt especially touching because viewers realized he was sitting near Dani Dyer, who had also unexpectedly left the competition earlier in the season with a broken ankle.

Okay, so I was scrolling through X and saw this post that totally got to me. Someone was seriously bummed – like, really heartbroken – that both Stefan and Dani got injured. They used a bunch of exclamation points and said they were ‘gutted,’ which is just a perfect way to describe how a lot of us are feeling when our favorite characters get hurt. It’s rough when you get invested, you know?
It was so sweet seeing Stefan and Dani in the audience! I can only imagine how tough it must be for them, but I’m really happy they still got to experience a little bit of the magic.
When Dani left the show after being paired with Nikita Kuzmin, she was replaced by Amber Davies, another contestant known from Love Island.
Tonight on Strictly, Tess and Claudia expressed their gratitude to viewers for the lovely messages they received after announcing they’ll be leaving the show this year. Plus, Ellie Goldstein and Vicky Pattison got a special surprise from two singers they admire.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday 26th October at 7:15pm.
