Anton Du Beke called Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin’s most recent dance on Strictly Come Dancing one of the best performances in the show’s history, following their impressive routine on the latest live episode.
They danced a lively Charleston to the song “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat” from the musical Guys and Dolls. Their performance was incredibly precise and theatrical, earning a standing ovation from the audience.
Anton gave one of his most enthusiastic speeches yet, telling the couple their performance was exceptional. He admitted they often say dances are the best they’ve ever seen on the show, but he genuinely believed this one was truly special – possibly the best in Strictly Come Dancing history. He repeated how brilliant it was.
“My only disappointment about the whole thing is I can’t give you 25 [points].”
Even Craig Revel Horwood, known for being a harsh critic, was highly impressed, calling the dance technically brilliant. He said the timing and execution were perfect and described the performance as a complete sensation. In fact, his only playful criticism was that the dance was too polished and precise.

Motsi Mabuse was thrilled with the performance and could barely contain her excitement when she gave her feedback to the couple. She simply said, “I’ve never seen anything like it – it was perfection!” which brought a big reaction from the audience.
Shirley Ballas also complimented the performance, highlighting Amber from Love Island as a particularly shining talent. She described the routine as “absolutely fantastic” and praised Amber as “a true star.”
The judges were overwhelmingly impressed with Amber and Nikita, giving them a perfect score of 40 – the highest possible, with each of the four judges awarding 10 points.
For the second week running, the couple achieved a perfect score and finished first on the Strictly leaderboard. Their Jive to Tina Turner’s ‘Proud Mary’ last week also received enthusiastic praise from the judges.
As the competition nears its end, Amber and Nikita are hoping to keep up their strong performance in the final weeks, with the fight for the championship trophy becoming increasingly fierce.
