A new update for Subnautica 2 is out now, focusing on improving resource availability. Players will find more Silver early in the game, and Troilite should be easier to come by later on. Additionally, a bug causing Hammerhead sharks to relentlessly follow players home has been fixed – they’ll now only be attracted to the lights on the Tadpole vehicle.
The update also addresses crashes that sometimes happened when disconnecting from multiplayer games or while exploring the final areas of the game. Players using the highest graphics settings on PC should see better performance, and the game’s Terms of Service have been updated based on player feedback.
So, the game’s terms of service have been updated. Basically, the developers tweaked a bunch of sections – things like rules about gameplay videos, what they’re not responsible for, what you can’t do with the game, and more – to better explain how they handle and share my data as a player. It’s good they’re being more upfront about that stuff!
Players now have the option to disable data tracking whenever they want, and we’ll remind them about this feature. To do so, they’ll need to agree to the updated Terms of Service, which will take effect either right away or at the end of any required notification period, depending on their location.
Don’t expect huge updates all at once – this is the developer’s approach for the early access period. You can find a detailed plan of future content on the roadmap. Also, check out our review to see if Subnautica 2 is worth playing right now.
