Although the live-action
The epic tale of Naruto delivered an ending that’s aged like fine wine with its 700 manga chapters and hundreds of anime episodes. That scope seems like a nearly impossible task to adapt into a live-action two-hour movie. Even though One Piece live-action broke the curse of disappointing anime adaptations, it’s done so by adapting the long series into a Netflix show that obviously provides a lot more runtime to tell its story. Still, recent developments prove that a Naruto movie can still work and look great.
A live-action Naruto movie has been talked about for over ten years, but it finally gained momentum in 2024 when Destin Daniel Cretton – known for directing the popular Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – signed on to direct. Although we haven’t seen any official previews of the Naruto movie itself, the trailer for Cretton’s upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, hints at his vision for the project.
Ninjas In The Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Are A Naruto Appetizer
As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve seen a lot of trailers blow up online, but the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer was something else – it hit over a billion views in just a week! Everyone was excited to see Peter Parker trying to rebuild his life after everyone forgot who he was. But honestly, I was especially hyped because it was my first real look at Destin Daniel Cretton’s vision for a live-action *Narutostyle world. It gave us a taste of what he thinks ninjas should look like with a big Hollywood budget, and I was really impressed.
The latest trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day showed some thrilling action, including Spider-Man fighting many different villains. Naruto fans, however, should especially watch the scenes where Spider-Man battles red ninjas in the prison and on the rooftop. These shots offer the first glimpse of how ninjas might appear in the upcoming live-action movie.
Fans believe the villains shown are probably members of The Hand, a secret group that’s appeared in past Marvel TV series. Interestingly, the costumes and fight scenes were designed by the same person who’s also working on the upcoming Naruto movie.
Cretton’s Work Inspires Hope That Naruto Is In The Right Hands
The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day delivers the impressive costumes and exciting action we’ve come to expect from Marvel movies. Director Destin Daniel Cretton demonstrates a strong ability to create visually stunning action sequences and effectively use special effects – skills that are essential for a successful live-action Naruto film. Each action-packed shot with the ninja characters further confirms that Cretton is the right person to bring Naruto to life.
The initial trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day suggests director Destin Daniel Cretton will deliver the exciting, high-energy action fans are hoping for. Adding to the positive outlook, Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto’s approval is a promising sign that the upcoming live-action Naruto movie could be truly special, especially given Cretton’s demonstrated skills. One key thing fans will be watching for is whether the director and writers can also capture the emotional depth, intricate world, and compelling relationships that make Naruto so beloved.
