Fans think the trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie might include secret references to two famous Nintendo bad guys. The sequel will be a space adventure, with Mario traveling through the galaxy to stop Bowser Jr., a new and powerful villain. The latest trailer revealed a lot about the movie, including the first look at Yoshi.
Everyone’s been focusing on Bowser Jr. as the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie comes out, but recent clips suggest Wario and Waluigi might also appear. The latest trailer, showing a first look at Yoshi, features Mario and his friends fighting in a place that looks like a casino.

Things get really wild when Mario and friends encounter Birdo – it’s her first time on the big screen, and she shoots eggs! But honestly, the casino they stumble upon has got fans buzzing. A lot of viewers think it might be a sneaky first look at the villains from the wider Mario universe – characters who aren’t exactly fans of our heroes – finally making their movie debut. It’s a fun little detail that’s got everyone speculating!
A casino hasn’t really been a part of any Mario game before, but there are definitely characters connected to gambling and risky behavior. Wario and Waluigi are famous for always chasing money, so they’d be the most likely candidates to run a casino if one ever appeared in the Mushroom Kingdom.

The casino’s design is very similar to the Waluigi Pinball track from Mario Kart DS. Both feature a lot of purple, bright neon lights, and the straight lines of slot machines create a similar casino atmosphere to the game course.
Adding to the excitement, a recent poster for the Super Mario Bros. Movie showed a setting very similar to the Colosseum. This has led fans to speculate about a possible race track inspired by the Wario Colosseum from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.

Since the mid-1990s, Wario and Waluigi have been rivals to Mario and Luigi in video games. Wario first appeared in 1992’s Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins as the main villain. He quickly became a popular part of the Mario series, and Nintendo even created several games starring him as the main character.
Waluigi was introduced a few years after Luigi as his rival in the Mario Tennis games. Since then, this tall and somewhat clumsy character has become a regular in the Mario universe, mostly appearing in spin-off games like Mario Party, Mario Kart, and the various Mario sports titles.
The animated sequel to The Super Mario Movie arrives in theaters on April 1st. Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jack Black reprise their roles, and Brie Larson joins as Princess Rosalina, with Benny Safdie voicing Bowser Jr. The film continues the story based on the popular Nintendo Mario video games, taking audiences on a new adventure through space.
Could Wario & Waluigi Appear in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie?

Even though Wario and Waluigi haven’t been confirmed for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie yet, it’s still possible they’ll appear in the next installment.
So far, Bowser Jr., the magical Kamek, and Bowser seem to be the main villains in the new animated movie. This leaves space for other villains to appear and make their debut on the big screen.
Chris Pratt hinted that the new movie will feature even more characters that haven’t been revealed yet. He recently told GamesRadar that there are “a couple more [characters] that people should be excited to see” who weren’t included in the trailer.
Yes, there are! I can’t reveal everything just yet, but we’ve already shown Rosalina and Bowser Jr. in the trailer, and there are a few other surprises we haven’t revealed that I think players will be really happy about.
Fans are wondering if Wario and Waluigi will be surprise characters in the upcoming Mario movie, as they’re popular characters who haven’t appeared in any Mario films yet. If they don’t have a major role in the new movie, they might appear briefly after the credits to hint at their introduction in a possible third film.
