As a huge fan of the BBC’s Vigil, I was so excited to see this! TopMob just dropped an exclusive first look at a teaser for season three, and it gives you a real sense of what’s coming up. It looks intense!

The recently released teaser is short but confirms Suranne Jones will return as Amy Silva and Rose Leslie as Kirsten Longacre. This time, they’ll be investigating the death of a British special forces officer at a research station in the Arctic.

Filming for the third season of the thriller – created by Tom Edge and produced by World Productions, the company behind Line of Duty – took place in September 2025. It follows the second season, which aired in December 2023.

You can watch the exclusive, snowy teaser right here now.

In season three of Vigil, DCI Amy Silva and DI Kirsten Longacre investigate the death of a soldier at a secret military research base in the Arctic.

Amy and Kirsten face a dangerous mission: they must stop a killer and prevent a global crisis sparked by a fight over valuable resources in the Arctic. The stakes are incredibly high, as both their jobs and their relationship are at risk.

Gary Lewis and Dominic Mafham are returning as DS Robertson and Sir Ian Downing, respectively. Joining them this season are newcomers Jeppe Beck Laursen, Steven Miller, Naomi Yang, Benjamin Wainwright, Tornike Gogrichiani, and Danusia Samal, who will be playing new characters yet to be revealed.

We’ve brought together a fantastic team to create this show, and our goal is to present a compelling story that explores important issues impacting our future.

The third season of Vigil is coming to BBC One and BBC iPlayer soon. You can currently watch the first two seasons on BBC iPlayer.
