Surprisingly, it turns out that the Rogue Prince of Persia will be available for PlayStation 5 today, specifically on the 20th of August, 2025. This announcement seems to have come suddenly and unexpectedly.
It appears that we had initially expected the rogue-lite action platformer to depart from its early access phase on PC this month, yet it seemed we had underestimated its arrival on consoles, as we now anticipate a console launch to be slightly closer.
It appears that the PS5 version of the game is all set for release and should become accessible on the PlayStation Store very soon. Although the game is not currently visible, it won’t take much longer before it appears.
The news comes via an Xbox broadcast from Gamescom. Here’s the video courtesy of IGN:
This game, known as Dead Cells, was further developed by a team within what’s colloquially called the “Evil Empire.” They’ve been instrumental in post-launch updates for the title. It’s an action-packed, side-scrolling rogue-lite where you’ll journey to rectify the Prince’s errors, engaging in combat along the way.

You’ll use a combination of parkour platforming and slick combat to make it through.
In this game, since it’s a roguelike, when you pass away, your advancement resets – however, there are lasting enhancements that help you grow stronger with every attempt.
