Michael Gracey, the director of Tangled, recently started following Freya Skye, a star from Zombies 4, on Instagram. This has sparked rumors that Skye might be Disney’s pick to play Rapunzel in the upcoming live-action remake of the animated film Tangled. Although Disney hasn’t officially announced any casting decisions yet, the connection has fans speculating.

Skye is a singer who has contributed to more than twelve songs, and she also started acting in 2025. She first appeared in the movie Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires and later had a continuing role as Piper in Season 2 of the TV show Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Michael Gracey is a well-known music video director who has collaborated with artists like P!nk and Natasha Beddingfield. He transitioned to directing feature films with the hit movie The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman and Zendaya, and recently received high praise for his 2024 film, Better Man.

Disney hasn’t officially announced details about a live-action remake of Tangled.
