Following an exceptional 19th season this year, which many fans hailed as one of the greatest in the series, Taskmaster is nearly set to return for its momentous 20th installment.
The upcoming season is scheduled to debut at 9 o’clock on Thursday, 11th of September, 2025, with new episodes being aired each week starting then, as we’ve come to expect from Channel 4.
Excitingly, new episodes of the show will become available in the US on YouTube as soon as they air in the UK, which means you can catch them starting at 10 PM BST / 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST on Thursday, September 11th on YouTube.
At the conclusion of season 19, the lineup for season 20 was revealed, featuring Reece Shearsmith from Inside No. 9 and Sanjeev Bhaskar, known for his work on Unforgotten, as part of the ensemble.
Additionally, stand-up comedians such as Ania Magliano (from Live at the Apollo), Maisie Adam (known from A League of Their Own), and Phil Ellis (from his own show Phil Ellis Is Trying) will also be featured.
Every time, as expected, the five competitors will engage in several challenges designed by the show’s inventor, Alex Horne. The Taskmaster, Greg Davies, will be the one awarding points for their performance in these tasks.
In Season 19 of the show, Mathew Baynton from Ghosts claimed the victory, with Stevie Martin closely following as the first runner-up. Jason Mantzoukas secured third place, Rosie Ramsey placed fourth, and Fatiha El-Ghorri ended up in fifth position.
Following season 20, there’s a strong possibility that another Champion of Champions event will take place. The victors from seasons 16 through 20 may once again face off against each other in a bid to claim the extra championship title.
The popular show, after completing an impressive 20 seasons, shows no signs of losing momentum. In fact, Horne has shared that filming for the 21st season is well underway and a significant portion of it has already been completed.
He informed TopMob about season 21: “Two fresh elements are in place. We’ll be shooting not just at the house, but also at a rather eccentric location.

Starting on September 11, 2025, Taskmaster season 20 will be aired on Channel 4 within the UK. If you’re living outside the UK, previous seasons are accessible for streaming on both Channel 4 and YouTube.
