Terraria Hits 70 Million Copies Sold, 15th Anniversary Collector’s Edition Announced

It feels like just yesterday that Terraria reached 35 million in lifetime sales! Now, developer Re-Logic has announced that number has doubled to an incredible 70 million copies sold across all platforms. PC remains the most popular platform with 39.6 million sales, but mobile is surprisingly close behind at 19.7 million, and consoles account for 10.7 million.

Over the past year, Terraria has seen an average of 461,000 daily PC players, with nearly half of them playing using the tModLoader mod. Player numbers have peaked at 1.4 million. On average, players have spent 101 hours and 18 minutes playing, and those who use mods are just as dedicated, averaging 89 hours and 52 minutes of playtime.

Although update 1.4.6 is coming soon, Re-Logic has stopped saying each update will be the final one, promising continued support for the game. They announced on Steam that details about future plans will be revealed over time, so players should keep an eye out for more information.

We have lots of exciting future plans for Terraria that we’ll reveal when we’re ready. But rest assured, we’re committed to keeping the game thriving and full of life for many years to come! Here’s to at least 15 more years – and beyond!

Good news for fans! A special physical 15th Anniversary Collector’s Edition is coming soon, with pre-orders expected to start in June and the full release planned for next year. While the exact contents are still a secret, it looks like the edition will include a model of the player’s heart and a figure of the Moon Lord.
