The Agency season 2 may well be debuting new episodes very soon.
The thrilling new series, created by brothers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, draws inspiration from the French show Le Bureau des Legendes and stars Michael Fassbender as CIA officer Martian. It debuted on Paramount+ and Showtime in December 2024 and was quickly renewed due to high viewership and a talented cast including Jodie Turner-Smith, Jeffrey Wright, and Richard Gere. The show is known as The Agency.
In his newsletter, Matt’s Inside Line, reporter Matt Webb Mitovich shared that season 2 of The Agency is currently planned to premiere around early summer. While a specific date hasn’t been announced and Paramount+ hasn’t officially confirmed anything, the show began casting and filming in June 2025 and remains on schedule for a return.
The first ten episodes of the spy series focus on Martian being forced to leave his secret life and return to work at London Station. He struggles to readjust to normal life, especially connecting with his daughter, after years in deep cover. Things get even more difficult when a woman from his past, played by Janelle Monáe, reappears.
The first season of The Agency ended by showing just how much Martian will risk to reconnect with a former love, even if it means damaging his career at the CIA. The show will continue this storyline in future episodes, now under a slightly updated title: The Agency: Central Intelligence. It remains a hit on both Paramount+ and Showtime.
When the show returns, Amir El-Masry, known for his role in The Crown, will join the cast as Saeed, an intelligence officer representing the United Arab Emirates. Several other actors are also new to the show, including Christian Ochoa Lavernia, Clayne Crawford, Keanush Tafreshi, Medalion Rahimi, Raza Jaffrey, and Tessa Ferrer.
| The Agency Season 2: New Cast Member | Who They Play | Character Description |

The second season will bring back Michael Fassbender, Jodie Turner-Smith, Ruth Wright, Richard Gere, and Katherine Waterston, along with Harriet Sansom Harris, John Magaro, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Andrew Brooke, India Fowler, Reza Brojerdi, and Alex Reznik. Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth are returning to write and executive produce the new season as well.
The new thriller got a strong start thanks to big names like George Clooney, who served as an executive producer, and director Joe Wright, known for his BAFTA-nominated work, who directed the first two episodes. You can still watch it on Paramount+ and get caught up before season 2 of The Agency arrives.
