The popular animated series, The Amazing Digital Circus, is giving fans a special way to see its final episode. The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act will be shown in movie theaters across the United States and many other countries starting June 4th. However, viewers in the Middle East won’t be able to experience the finale in theaters, as it won’t be released there.
The creator of the animated series “ItsAnimates” recently announced that The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act won’t be shown in most countries in the Arab world. Abdulrahman Altayeb, who founded the company and also works as an animator and voice actor in the Middle East, explained that he can’t share the reason for the ban just yet, and will reveal more after the final episode airs. He also asked fans not to contact theaters, as the decision came from a higher authority. Fortunately, the series finale will still be available on YouTube in the region about two weeks after it premieres in cinemas.
The Digital Circus’s Curtain Call
Abdulrahman Altayeb has explained the delay in releasing The Amazing Digital Circus in Arab countries. He worked with distribution companies, using his experience in dubbing and industry connections, to secure a cinema deal. Over the last two weeks, he’s been finalizing the agreement with Glitch, who were keen to bring the series to the region due to high audience interest. While he can’t yet explain the reason for the hold-up, he wanted to clarify why the series isn’t available and to avoid further inquiries to local cinemas.
The show has been banned in nearly all Arab countries due to censorship concerns. This information is being shared to save people the effort of contacting local cinemas, as the ban came from a high authority. Despite only debuting two years ago, The Amazing Digital Circus has quickly become incredibly popular with a large and dedicated fanbase. As of today, the first episode on YouTube has over 429 million views – a remarkable number for an animated series.
