The Apothecary Diaries Reveals First Official Trailer of a New Project

Fans of the popular anime The Apothecary Diaries can now immerse themselves in the world of the Imperial Court with a new simulation game, The Apothecary Diaries: Harem Strange Tales. Announced shortly after the anime’s second season concluded in July 2025, the game lets you play as Maomao, solving mysteries and navigating the intrigues of the palace and entertainment district. You can also team up with other players to cultivate medicinal herbs. The game features a cast of 35 characters, including familiar faces like Jinshi, Gaoshun, and Concubine Gyokuyou. Best of all, it’s a web browser game, so no downloads are required and it works on any device – phones, tablets, or computers. Pre-registration is open now on the G123 platform, with rewards available for participating. The game is currently exclusive to G123, a platform operated by CTW Inc. in Japan, and a new X (formerly Twitter) account has been launched to share updates and news.

What to Expect from The Apothecary Diaries Season 3

A trailer for the next installment was shown after Season 2 ended, but it hasn’t been confirmed that it will be Season 3. Because of this, we don’t yet know how the sequel will be released. While the release is still some time away, it will cover the fifth volume of the original light novel by Natsu Hyuuga. Each of the first two seasons had two parts, and adapted one volume of the novel in each part. The second season finishes the story from Volume 4, which takes place after the Shi Clan’s rebellion is defeated.

Jinshi won with surprisingly few losses, largely due to assistance from Loulan. The season concludes with Jinshi officially taking his place as Imperial Brother, no longer needing to pretend to be an eunuch or oversee the Rear Palace now that his true identity is known. Meanwhile, Maomao goes back to working as an apothecary at the Verdigris House, and her father, Luomen, returns to his role as a physician in the palace. Despite being busy with his new position, Jinshi continues to find time to visit Maomao.

The new season will show how things have changed since the end of Season 2, especially the balance of power in the palace. Gyokuyou’s position will grow stronger after she has a son, but Loulan’s departure will leave the position of Pure Consort unfilled. Despite all the changes, one thing will stay the same: Jinshi and Maomao will continue to team up and use Maomao’s exceptional skills as an apothecary to solve unusual mysteries.
