Somehow, a The Batman 2 rumor has returned after being debunked by James Gunn.
In simple terms, Matt Reeves is set to direct a follow-up to his 2022 Batman film titled The Batman. This new movie continues the story and features Robert Pattinson reprising his role as the famed vigilante known as the Dark Knight. Zoë Kravitz plays Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, while Paul Dano portrays the villainous character Edward Nashton, who transforms into The Riddler in the movie.
A TV series focused on The Penguin character, a spin-off from Batman, has already been produced. Meanwhile, a direct follow-up to the original movie titled “The Batman” is in development and is scheduled for release in 2027.
What is The Batman 2 rumor?
According to well-known industry insider, Jeff Sneider, it has been revealed that Robin is included in the completed screenplay by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin for “The Batman 2”.
Gunn clarified that rumor by stating on Threads: “Folks, enough with the falsehoods. I believe out of our group, six people have gone through the script. At this point, no one has any knowledge regarding The Batman 2.”
In simpler terms, despite not having confirmation, Grace Randolph added her thoughts to the discussion. Grace Randolph, a YouTuber known for breaking news, claimed that the rumor about Robin’s involvement, as reported by Sneider, turned out to be accurate.
It’s important to mention that while Randolph and Gunn have a disputed professional relationship, as Gunn often accuses Randolph of fabricating stories due to it generating more traffic. Additionally, Gunn once stated, “The earth revolves around the sun, mothers love their children, and Grace Randolph will spread nonsense.
This implies that Robin’s appearance in The Batman 2 is not yet confirmed with certainty. At present, little information is available regarding the movie’s narrative or plot, as production won’t start until spring of 2026. As a result, it may still be quite some time before any official details about the film are disclosed.
