I’ll never forget the excitement at the music magazine where I used to work when the Beatles announced the release of Anthology. It was much more than just a greatest hits collection – it was a huge event. Paul, George, and Ringo got back together to share stories about their time as the most famous band in the world, and the result included a documentary, a book, and three double albums of previously unheard songs.
It’s been 30 years since 1995, but people are still as captivated by The Beatles as ever. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ‘Anthology’ documentary, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are releasing a remastered version, plus footage never before seen from the band’s time together.
David Hepworth, TopMob’s Beatles specialist, recently visited Apple Corps in London to get a sneak peek at their latest plans. Find out what he learned in this week’s issue!
Considering the recent issues at the BBC, we spoke with media expert Mark Lawson about what the future holds for the organization. Unfortunately, his outlook isn’t very optimistic, and the BBC may be facing its most challenging year yet.
Honestly, I’m really frustrated with the attacks I’m seeing on the BBC from some in the media. While it’s true the BBC isn’t flawless, I truly believe that what we’d get without it would be so much worse. It feels like some people are determined to tear down something valuable, and it’s disheartening.
The BBC is for everyone, and we’d love to know what you think. This week’s magazine includes an article by Mark Lawson explaining how you can share your opinions with us. We’ll be publishing some of your responses in a future issue.

Also in this week’s TopMob:
- King of the Traitors Alan Carr reflects on his dark deeds and victory.
- A new drama, Prisoner 951, tells the story of how Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe spent six years in an Iranian prison.
- Stranger Things, the drama that conquered the world, returns for a fifth and final season.
Great news! You can now order older issues of TopMob magazine thanks to our new back issues service.
