The Blood of Dawnwalker Promises A “Lot of Reactivity” to Player Choices in Quests

In Rebel Wolves’ The Blood of Dawnwalker, building a bad reputation isn’t just about angering certain characters—it fundamentally changes the game world, making it more dangerous and attracting unexpected allies, including the resistance. This system is deeply connected to the player character, Coen, and how he forms relationships, creating a dynamic experience where quests react to your choices, according to creative director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.

We pay close attention to the decisions players make throughout the game,” he explained to Game Informer. “This allows us to create a world where characters react realistically to your actions – they might recall things you’ve done and respond accordingly later on.”

Our game lets you build relationships in a variety of ways, not just through conversations, but also through your actions,” explains game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. “We’ve included many different quests and activities – some are action-packed with combat and magic, while others are quieter and more focused on helping people through conversation and other tasks, allowing you to develop your relationships with them.

It’s clear these connections also reach Brencis’s lieutenants, such as Xanthe the Dark Mistress. We’ve already seen Coen attempt to fight her and fail, but completing her side quest could lead to a different outcome. To unlock this, you need to gain Infamy – essentially, do everything she’d disapprove of.

When The Blood of Dawnwalker releases on September 3rd, you’ll experience a world that truly reacts to your choices. A complete game will likely take around 50 hours to finish, longer than the developers originally planned. But rescuing Coen’s family is just the beginning – there’s much more to discover.
