The Boys Finally Introduces Its Version of Thor (With a Twist)

The last season of *The Boys* is coming soon, and the stakes are high. Most of the team is in jail thanks to Homelander using Vought’s superheroes against them, but Billy Butcher and Starlight are still fighting back. Facing overwhelming odds, Starlight seeks help from Marie Moreau, a former superhero on the run from both Vought and her old school. Their goal is to uncover details about Project Odessa, which might be Homelander’s ultimate weapon.

Marie’s only option to fulfill her promise is to return to school and discover what Vought is up to. This means she has to publicly act as a representative of God U again, which is difficult for her. The school’s new dean, Cipher, believes Marie has great potential and wants to challenge her, setting her on a path to conflict with a powerful figure reminiscent of Thor from *The Boys*.

Vikor Hits as Hard as the God of Thunder in Gen V Season 2

Cipher’s plan is to prepare God U’s superpowered students for an expected revolt by humans. To assess their current strength, he’s testing them against a formidable opponent named Vikor. Vikor, a massive man with a hammer, easily defeats most of the students before Marie and Jordan Li work together to stop the training session. It’s clear that Vikor is one of Vought’s strongest creations, which makes sense considering the character he’s modeled after.

In the *The Boys* comics, the character Vikor is clearly inspired by Thor from Marvel Comics, with his long blonde hair and winged helmet. Though he doesn’t have a connection to actual Viking mythology – his powers come from Vought – he still connects with his Slavic heritage. The comics establish Vikor as a key member of the “Children of Stormfront,” a storyline that can’t happen in the live-action series now that Stormfront is gone. However, another important part of his backstory could potentially be explored in *Gen V* if the show’s writers choose to include it.

Vikor May Be More Important to Gen V Than He Appears

Cipher is manipulating Vikor, a man who enjoys inflicting pain, but the comics show a more complex side to him. Billy discovers Vikor in vulnerable situations, and to protect his image, Vikor reluctantly agrees to help The Boys. He becomes their inside source, providing information about Stormfront and other Supes. However, siding with Billy Butcher ultimately leads to Vikor’s death, and the details surrounding it remain unclear.

Keeping Cipher safe protects him from danger, but Marie and her team need his strength to get closer to the dean, who is very secretive about his abilities. Cipher is the biggest unknown factor in *Gen V* Season 2, and it will be hard for the heroes to succeed as long as he’s around. Their best bet might be to use someone with the power of Thor, but have them act like the mischievous god Loki – using clever plans and betrayal to achieve their goal.
