The Boys Just Formed a Team Powerful Enough to Take Down The Seven & Homelander (But Will They?)

As a huge fan of The Boys, I’ve always seen The Seven as Vought’s golden children – they have to keep those guys looking perfect, because any cracks in the facade would mean their whole operation is falling apart. But lately, The Seven have been getting absolutely wrecked. It really started with Translucent’s brutal death at the hands of Billy Butcher, and after that, it felt like members were constantly joining and leaving – Vought Tower became a revolving door of Supes! Things seemed to be settling down as we head into Season 5, but honestly, it might not even matter because a new player is about to enter the game.

Even though Vought seems to control everything – even the government – things are slipping under Homelander‘s command. A dangerous new team is secretly forming, and they could defeat both The Seven and Homelander himself. What’s even more troubling is that someone close to Homelander is responsible for bringing them together.

Sister Sage Opens the Door for Vought’s Defeat in Gen V Season 2

In Season 2 of Gen V, after causing major destruction, Cipher reveals a shocking truth: he isn’t Cipher at all, but Godolkin, who has been secretly manipulating events for years. His current plan involves using Marie Moreau to supposedly “heal the world,” though the details remain unclear. Sister Sage is suspicious, as she and her partner are determined to rise to power together. Despite warnings, Godolkin hosts another seminar to attract Marie and control her, succeeding until Polarity—whom Sister Sage deliberately allows to approach—intervenes and ruins everything. With Polarity’s help, Marie defeats Godolkin, saving the school and reaffirming her loyalty despite its dangers.

Marie and her friends are being forced to leave their home as Vought arrives to cover up what happened, and they won’t be treated kindly. They head to Stan Edgar’s secret location, where they’re surprised by Starlight and A-Train, who invite them to join the resistance. While no one officially assigns them roles, it’s becoming clear that Marie, Jordan, Emma, Sam, Cate, and Annabeth are the true protectors of Godolkin and will be key players in the fight against Vought and Homelander. They appear to have the strength and ability to resolve the conflict with ease.

The Seven Are No Match for the Guardians of Godolkin

During her investigation into Cipher, Marie learns she was created by the same project – Project Odessa – that made Homelander. Edgar reveals she’s as powerful as he is, hinting he might need her help to defeat Homelander eventually. She’ll likely get that chance, but she can’t face him alone. The other members of The Seven will undoubtedly support their leader. However, Jordan and Sam are stronger than all of The Seven, except Homelander. With Cate’s ability to control Vought’s more vulnerable heroes like The Deep and Firecracker, the Guardians have a clear advantage. The only obstacle standing in their way is the existing storyline of The Boys.

When heroes from another series show up and easily defeat the main villains of The Boys, it’s likely to cause problems, even though it makes sense considering their powers. The story will focus on how Billy Butcher reacts, and he’ll be the first to confront The Seven. Starlight, Hughie, and the others will follow, leaving little opportunity for the characters from Gen V to take the lead. They might be able to help The Boys escape from prison and get some revenge, but that’s probably the best they can expect.

Gen V Season 2 is streaming on Prime Video.
