With only two episodes remaining in its final season, Prime Video is giving fans a special way to see the end of The Boys – in movie theaters across the US.
The last episode will be shown in 4DX cinemas across the US at 9:30 PM on Tuesday, May 19th, just before it becomes available to stream on Prime Video.
The show announced its finale on X, promising a special 4DX experience! Starting in two weeks, the last episode will feature vibrations and immersive effects. You can secure a 4DX seat by purchasing a concession voucher – redeemable for candy or a drink on the day of the event. The finale airs May 19th at 9:30 p.m.
This release strategy is similar to how Netflix handled the finale of Stranger Things, which also had a limited theatrical run where viewers paid for concessions instead of traditional tickets. This unusual approach is due to contract agreements with the actors and creators, which prevent charging standard admission fees for content related to the series.

Eric Kripke, the creator of ‘The Boys,’ has consistently talked about how important the show’s finale and the final season would be. The first episode of season 5 proved he wasn’t exaggerating, as a major character, A-Train, was killed off.
Kripke has also cautioned fans not to anticipate massive, movie-style battles in the finale, largely because of the show’s limited budget.
Speaking with SFX Magazine, he explained that the new season won’t have large-scale battles like ‘Game of Thrones’ due to budget limitations. However, it will feature many intense, direct conflicts between characters fans want to see clash. He hopes these confrontations will be both satisfying and emotionally impactful, though he admits to being a little worried about how audiences will react.

Like Stranger Things, the world of The Boys isn’t ending with the main show. Stranger Things expanded with the animated series Tales From ’85, and The Boys will continue with a new prequel called Vought Rising.
More shows related to ‘The Boys’ are being created, like a new version set in Mexico. However, one of these shows, ‘Gen V’, will not be continuing.
