It looks like a remastered ‘Definitive Edition‘ of the PS4 game The Division is coming, but recent leaks indicate it won’t be as significantly upgraded for the PS5 as originally thought.
The PlayStation Store currently offers a Gold Edition of the game, which includes the original game and all three of its expansions. Now, a new Definitive Edition is coming out, and it looks like it will replace the Gold Edition. The Definitive Edition will include the same content as the Gold Edition, plus some additional cosmetic items like outfits.
Mav’Rick shared a post on BlueSky, including an image, stating the new version is expected to launch in March 2026.
Initially, people believed a ‘Definitive Edition’ would bring the game to PlayStation 5 with improvements designed specifically for the new console, building on recent compatibility updates. While a fully optimized PS5 version is still possible with this update, it’s unclear if it will offer significant visual or performance upgrades. Currently, it seems this is just a re-release containing everything from the original game.
