FromSoftware recently took a step that suggests they’ll be sharing updates on their upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game, The Duskbloods, very soon. Since the game was first announced last year, the studio has been quiet about it. However, The Duskbloods is still one of the most anticipated Switch 2 games planned for 2026, and a reveal of more details might be happening soon.
This week, FromSoftware began accepting pre-orders for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the new Switch 2 console. The game, which was revealed alongside The Duskbloods last year, is expected to be released in 2026. While FromSoftware hasn’t announced a specific release date for Elden Ring on Switch 2, the start of pre-orders suggests it will be available soon.
Since FromSoftware is releasing two games on the new Switch 2, it didn’t make sense for them to advertise both at once. It always seemed likely that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition would come out first, acting as a lead-up to The Duskbloods. Now that Elden Ring is expected to launch on Switch 2 relatively soon, FromSoftware will be able to start sharing more details about The Duskbloods afterward.
When to Expect a New Showing for The Duskbloods
Any future reveals of The Duskbloods will almost certainly happen during a Nintendo Direct presentation. Because the game is exclusive to the Switch 2, Nintendo controls all the marketing, so we won’t see it announced elsewhere. Considering Nintendo usually holds a Direct in June, that’s likely when we’ll see the game next. If nothing is shown in June, the next opportunity would probably be during a Direct around September.
Even though we don’t know exactly when we’ll hear more about The Duskbloods, FromSoftware has confirmed it’s still on track to be released in 2026. The wait for new information is tough, but this period of silence shouldn’t continue for much longer.
