The Fall of Sir Douglas Weatherford – TRAILER

Peter Mullan is a fantastic actor, and his recent role in the BAFTA-winning film ‘I Swear,’ which tells a true story about Tourette’s, is a great example of his talent. He’s consistently delivered strong performances throughout his career, yet he doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves. Hopefully, the trailer for his new film, ‘The Fall of Sir Douglas Weatherford,’ will bring him the wider attention he deserves.

The film centers on Kenneth McKay (Mullan), a man recently bereaved and working as a tour guide at a quiet visitor center in the small town of Arberloch. He passionately shares the story of Sir Douglas Weatherford, a historical figure he believes is his ancestor. When a popular fantasy TV series begins filming in Arberloch, Kenneth worries that Sir Douglas’s reputation will be overshadowed. Determined to protect his ancestor’s legacy, Kenneth takes matters into his own hands, no matter the consequences.

Seán Dunn’s first feature film premiered in the UK at the Glasgow Film Festival, a special event for the film and its creators after initially debuting at the 2026 Rotterdam Film Festival’s Big Screen Competition. The film stars Peter Mullan, alongside Gayle Rankin, Jacob Oftebro, and Lewis MacDougall.
