New Free-to-Play Apothecary Diaries Game Lets You Solve Mysteries, Gather Herbs, and Make Medicine
Fans of The Apothecary Diaries can now play a new game called The Apothecary Diaries Palace Chronicles. It’s created by CTW, a company known for making online games based on popular anime series, and is available on the Japanese website G123. Good news for English-speaking players – this release includes both English subtitles and text! You can start playing now while we all wait for Season 3 of The Apothecary Diaries to premiere in October.
From what I’ve played, Palace Chronicles seems like a really good game adaptation of The Apothecary Diaries. You play as Maomao, using her skills in medicine to create remedies and uncover secrets. Basically, it’s like stepping right into the anime! The best part is you can play on your phone or computer without needing to download anything – which is great considering how expensive consoles are now.
To mark the official release of the game, CTW released a new video with the original voice actors for Maomao and Jinshi. You can watch the video below to see what the Apothecary Diaries simulation game is all about.
The game appears to feature a system where players can recruit well-known characters to assist with various tasks within the Rear Palace. For example, you can ask Jinshi and Lihaku to gather herbs, and receive help from friends like Xiaolan and even less trustworthy characters like Suirei in Maomao’s medical practice. You’ll need to obtain these characters through the game’s gacha system, but the game is launching with rewards to help you get more characters – you can even automatically recruit Xiaolan right away!
Starting today, June 15th, you can play The Apothecary Diaries Palace Chronicles for free online. The game offers optional in-app purchases.
