The God Slayer confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC; first details, trailer, and screenshots

I’m so excited! Pathea Games just dropped the first trailer and some screenshots for their new game, The God Slayer! It’s an open-world action RPG set in this really cool city that looks like a mix of Eastern styles and steampunk. They originally announced it as part of the PlayStation China Hero Project last July, but now they’ve confirmed it’s coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam! No release date yet, but I’m already hooked!

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

Okay, so imagine this incredible city – it’s like steampunk meets ancient Eastern culture, and it’s ruled by these powerful, almost god-like beings called Celestials. You play as an Elemancer, someone who can control the elements, but you’re not about to just accept their rule. You’re driven by a need for revenge, and your ultimate goal is to take down all of them. Basically, you’re becoming a God Slayer, and it sounds amazing! I’m already hooked.

The God Fall

In the distant past, divine beings known as Celestials brought the world and all living things into existence. They crafted these creatures with the ability to gather and refine a vital energy called qi over the course of their lives. When a creature died, this concentrated qi would return to the Celestial realm, sustaining the Celestials and allowing them to live forever.

But some people learned to control qi, turning it into the power of the elements – fire, water, earth, metal, and wood. These individuals became known as Elemancers. The Celestials were furious, believing this power belonged to them alone. As a warning, they launched a sudden and devastating attack on the Zhou Kingdom, the most powerful nation at the time. In a single night, the king and many Elemancers were tracked down and killed. This event became known as the God Fall.

The Elemeancer

You are Cheng, and your family was tragically killed by the Celestials during a devastating event known as the God Fall. Now, you’re on a journey to protect your people and get revenge for those you lost.

To succeed, you’ll develop your natural elemental abilities, learn new techniques from old texts and powerful teachers, and improve your internal energy flow. With enough practice, you’ll become strong enough to face even the most powerful beings.

The elements around us – fire, water, earth, and steam – all react with each other in predictable ways: fire burns wood, water puts out fire, steam forms from heated water, and earth can block things. How you use these interactions in combat is up to you!

The Star Fall Society

For generations, people have worshipped the Celestials as the creators of the world. However, their behavior during the God Fall caused deep and lasting damage. Many, like Cheng, were hurt by them, but most people remain afraid to challenge their power.

Despite the Celestial conquest, a resistance is forming. The Star Fall Society, guided by a mysterious leader known only as “Master” and powered by talented Elemancers, is fighting to free humanity and defeat the Celestials. They’ve found a valuable supporter for their cause in Cheng.

The Star Fall Society will do whatever it takes to kick the Celestials out of this world.

The Capital of Zhou

Okay, so the game is mostly set in the capital city of the Zhou Kingdom, which is built where two huge rivers flow into the Eastern Sea. It’s seriously impressive – they’re at the peak of steam-powered tech! Think airships, steamboats, even monorails and all kinds of steam-powered vehicles. The rich are living it up with air conditioning and automatic washing machines, but down in the poorer parts of town, most people are still stuck working in dirty factories or just getting bossed around by the nobles. It’s a pretty big divide, honestly.

This city is divided by powerful groups, each looking out for themselves. To stand a chance against the Celestial army and those who support them, you’ll need to build alliances, call in favors, and even offer bribes to get ahead. But be careful – you’re always being watched, and one wrong move could cost you everything.
