New photos from season two show the Hardacre family adjusting to their newfound wealth after escaping poverty. As the story moves into 1895, the world around them is rapidly evolving.
The Hardacre family is facing big changes as modern inventions, like electricity, start to affect their everyday lives.
In one photo, Arthur Lewis (played by Edward Mitchell) is proudly displaying a new film projector. Another picture shows Mary (Claire Cooper) happily riding her new bicycle through the streets.
Liza (Shannon Lavelle) is recovering from a heartbreak when she unexpectedly meets an attractive man, and a connection sparks.
Photos reveal a developing connection between her character and Captain Blackwood, portrayed by Niall McNamee. The images show them holding hands and sharing intimate glances.
Mary and Sam enjoy a life of comfort and success, but their children start to develop their own unique personalities and make choices that go against what’s expected of them.
Mary strongly supports educational programs for dock workers. Meanwhile, Sam is working to grow the family business despite fears of an upcoming economic downturn, and he’s questioning whether his son, Joe, is prepared to take over. Joe is eager to prove his abilities, but his rash decisions could jeopardize his chances.
Liza is healing from a heartbreak when she unexpectedly meets an attractive man, and Harry’s decision to drop out of school changes thanks to a motivating new teacher.
The story also reveals that Ma develops a surprising connection with someone, leading to new relationships while also putting pressure on existing ones.
With conflict brewing, Lady Imelda Hansen shows up at the Fitzherberts’ house with a hidden, risky plan, pushing the Hardacres to come together if they want to avoid total disaster.
Michele Dotrice, known for her role in A Very British Scandal, is joining the cast as the enigmatic Lady Imelda. She’s the latest addition to an already impressive group of actors.
