Saros is launching on PlayStation 5 in just over a month, and we’re really excited to finally play it after seeing all the short gameplay previews.
We’ve got a new look at the game, and it strongly suggests this sequel will be as good as, or even better than, Returnal.
This latest video is just 14 seconds long – our shortest one so far. But with gameplay looking this good, that’s all the time you need to show it off.
The video highlights Saros’ energetic and forceful style of play, which they call “pull forward.” Essentially, it means he’s very aggressive and constantly moving.
Saros is a fast-paced, high intensity third-person shooter with a rogue-lite structure.
The update smooths out some of the more difficult parts of Returnal, making the game a bit more forgiving. Specifically, after dying in Saros, you’ll be able to quickly return to areas you’ve already unlocked, instead of always starting back at the beginning.
I’m really excited about how Saros is building on the progression system from Returnal! Returnal had a taste of permanent upgrades, but Saros is taking it much further. It sounds like you’ll be able to invest in upgrades that actually stick with you, making each new run a little easier and letting you feel like you’re genuinely getting stronger over time. That’s a huge win for me!
Additionally, there’s a clear main storyline where the main character, Arjun Devraj, teams up with other people in the central location.
We can’t wait to see how the game unfolds when it launches on April 30th! What are your thoughts on this new preview of Saros? Share your opinions in the comments!
