Naughty Dog has rolled out a fresh update for “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered,” introducing an unusual addition: players can now experience the game in a sequential order. Keep in mind, there might be minor spoilers ahead, so proceed with caution.
The tale of remaster and original version revolves around Ellie and Abby, however, their narratives are not presented in a straightforward order, taking flashbacks into account. Naughty Dog stated that this non-linear structure is “deliberate” and “fundamental to how our studio wanted the themes and narrative beats of Part 2 to resonate with players.” They were curious about how experiencing everything in chronological order would affect the player’s experience.
This intriguing narrative provides an engaging exchange between their separate adventures in Seattle, showcasing how near they come to crossing paths, how their actions influence each other, and more. Nixxes, renowned for PlayStation’s PC adaptations, collaborated with Naughty Dog to develop this distinctive mode. First-time players should experience the story as intended, while long-time fans can enjoy a fresh take on things.
Absolutely, beginners might prefer the Chronological mode since it grants fresh Trophies and offers two well-known outfits as rewards: one for Joel modeled after Nathan Drake, and another for Tommy featuring a Sam Drake design. These outfits can be utilized within the No Return setting.
You can now play ‘The Last of Us Part 2’ in its remastered version on PS5 and PC platforms. For a comprehensive review, click here. At the moment, Naughty Dog is busy developing their next project, tentatively titled ‘Intergalactic’, though it seems we’ll have to wait a while before we can get our hands on it.
