The initial trailer for the World War II movie Pressure has been released, offering a first glimpse of Brendan Fraser (known for The Mummy) and Andrew Scott (from Sherlock) in their roles.
This drama, adapted from David Haig’s popular play, centers on Dwight D. Eisenhower (played by Fraser) and RAF meteorologist Captain James Stagg (played by Scott). The story unfolds over the three days leading up to the D-Day landings, as they carefully consider the dangers, particularly the unpredictable weather.
In the newly released clip, Fraser’s character makes it clear that the ultimate decision about when to launch D-Day rests solely with him.
Scott’s character later emphasizes that the storms he’s describing are genuine, and the power of nature is very real.

The cast of the series includes Chris Messina, known for his role in ‘Sharp Objects,’ as Irving P. Krick, Damian Lewis from ‘Wolf Hall’ as Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, and Kerry Condon, of ‘Better Call Saul,’ as Captain Kay Summersby. Fraser and Scott also star.
Anthony Maras, the director of “Hotel Mumbai,” directed the film, working from a screenplay he co-authored with Haig. Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Cass Marks, and Lucas Webb produced the movie.
The movie follows the 72 hours before D-Day, when everything is ready for the invasion except for a crucial factor: the weather in Britain.
James Stagg, Britain’s top weather forecaster, faced immense pressure to predict the conditions for what would become the most important forecast ever made. His predictions put him at odds with Allied commanders, as inaccurate information could doom the massive D-Day invasion, and even a short delay could alert German forces.
Dwight D. Eisenhower, as Supreme Allied Commander, carried the weight of the final decision. He confided only in his aide, Captain Kay Summersby, and was deeply troubled by a disastrous practice run for D-Day.
Brendan Fraser recently won an Oscar for his leading role in the 2022 film The Whale, directed by Darren Aronofsky. He’s also appeared in recent films like Killers of the Flower Moon, Brothers, and Rental Family.
I’m really excited to hear that the actor is coming back to play his character from the Mummy movies! Apparently, we’ll be seeing a continuation of that story in a new film scheduled to hit theaters in 2028. It’s been a while, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.
Scott, meanwhile, has recently appeared in All of Us Strangers, Blue Moon and Wake Up Dead Man.
Pressure is set to be released in cinemas in the UK on 9 September and 29 May 2026 in the US.
