Perp Games will publish and Project Cloud Games will develop The Relic: First Guardian, a dark fantasy action RPG. It’s coming to Switch in 2026, but will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (via Steam) on May 26th.
Perp Games is thrilled to announce that The Relic will be launching on the Nintendo Switch 2. According to Perp Games VP Mickey Torode, this is a significant technical achievement for the game. The team specifically wanted to bring the challenging RPG to the Switch 2 community, known for their love of this genre, and promises to share more details soon.
ere is an overview of the game, via Perp Games:
Inspired by Korean Folktales and Legends
Get a taste of the innovative gameplay, compelling story, and exciting combat coming in The Relic: First Guardian with this eight-minute preview. Explore Arsiltus, a continent steeped in ancient lore where every battle and moment is connected to a larger, intricate story. This is a truly unique experience waiting to be discovered.
Bosses are Brutals
The game features 70 challenging bosses, known as “Brutals,” each with a heartbreaking backstory. To defeat them, you’ll need to become skilled in a flexible combat system, combining weapons, magic, and abilities that fit how you like to play. Careful stamina management is key – every block and dodge matters! When you defeat a Brutal, The Last Guardian learns their story and gains powerful items and upgrades to help you continue your journey.
Progression is Environmental
As a huge fan, I’m loving how exploring the world really pays off! You find these little pieces everywhere that unlock new abilities, awesome armor, and powerful weapons. Seriously, you need to check everywhere – every nook and cranny, every hidden dungeon. It’s totally worth it to leave no place unexplored!
