Well-known gaming insider Tom Henderson reports that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was originally planned to launch today, January 16th, 2026.
But, well, it’s not looking likely, is it?
It’s already late in the day, and we still haven’t heard anything from Ubisoft, the French publisher. It seems like this rumor is likely losing steam.
Rumors suggested the game’s title might be announced at The Game Awards, but that didn’t happen. Over the last month, many false stories have circulated, and some of them even tricked us.
It’s understandable that Henderson thought January 16th was the planned release date, but things often shift during development. The publisher may have decided it wasn’t the best moment to launch, or the game might simply need a little more polishing before it’s ready.
We don’t expect to wait much longer for this game. Although it was originally planned for release several years ago, and development had to start over, we predict it will be available in early 2026.
Just not today, it seems.
