Fans of The Testaments have been handed a major update ahead of the show’s season 1 finale.
Disney+ announced that a second season of the Hulu drama, continuing the story of The Handmaid’s Tale, is officially happening.
The news was released just before the first season ends on May 27th. You can currently watch season 1 on Disney+ in the UK.
I just finished watching ‘The Testaments,’ and it’s a fascinating follow-up to ‘The Handmaid’s Tale.’ Instead of revisiting Offred’s story, this series wisely centers on a new generation navigating life under Gilead’s oppressive regime. It’s based on Margaret Atwood’s award-winning novel, and it really digs into what it’s like to grow up in that terrifying world.
The story centers on Agnes, a dedicated and religious teenager, and Daisy, a newcomer who arrives from outside the strict society of Gilead. Their paths cross at a special school run by Aunt Lydia, where young women are prepared to become wives.
Life there is harsh, with strict rules enforced through punishment and twisted religious beliefs. However, the strong connection between the girls sparks a series of events that might completely change everything – not just now, but also how they remember their lives and what’s to come.
Fans of The Handmaid’s Tale were in for a treat during the first season, as Elisabeth Moss made a surprise guest appearance reprising her role as June Osborne.

The show is becoming more popular each week. Episode 8 received 76% more views in its first day than the very first episode.
