There’s no changing Kelly Clarkson’s mind that Riley Green is going down during season 30 of The Voice.
Riley shared that Kelly Clarkson, who he’ll be working with as a judge on the upcoming competition series for the first time, has already created a fun, competitive atmosphere before filming even began.
In a recent interview with TopMob News at the 2026 American Music Awards, the country music star explained he hasn’t had much time to get to know his fellow judges yet, as he’s still new to the show. He shared that Kelly sent him a playful, teasing message about it.
And that’s precisely why he sees the American Idol alum as stiff competition.
“Kelly’s definitely talked the most trash,” he explained, “so she’ll probably be tough.”
Riley said he hasn’t spoken to Adam Levine yet, but he did get to meet Queen Latifah, another new judge on the show. He described meeting her as a really strange and amazing experience.
“That was a big deal,” he said. “She’s like a larger than life figure for me growing up.”
However, the 37-year-old believes he’ll have a clearer idea of how strong the competition is once filming begins.
He said he’s excited for everyone to get to know each other and build connections while filming the show. He believes it will feel authentic once they start shooting.
Until then, Riley revealed who he was stoked to meet at the 52nd annual AMAs.
“I think Ludacris is sitting on my row,” he said. “That’s pretty cool”
And that’s not all. After all, the “My Way” singer revealed he also has his eye out for Mrs. Right.
Just a week before the ACM Awards on May 17th, Riley revealed he hadn’t planned to bring a date, secretly hoping country superstar Shania Twain would take notice.
He mentioned that he wasn’t sure if Shania Twain was present at the American Music Awards on May 25th, but with so many people attending, he likes to stay open to meeting anyone. He explained this is his general approach when attending award shows.
Bebe Rexha was thrilled to hear the news. She told TopMob News at the event that she thinks Riley is very attractive, and playfully hinted to the camera, “Call me.”
