Season 4 of the popular HBO series The White Lotus is now filming, and the show’s creators have revealed some initial information about the new season.
Filming has begun on the Emmy-winning show about the wild and demanding guests at a luxurious resort on the French Riviera. The series follows one particularly chaotic week at the hotel.
Season 4 of The White Lotus will be different – instead of taking place at a single hotel, the story will unfold at two locations: the White Lotus du Cap and the White Lotus Cannes.
The White Lotus follows a fresh set of guests and staff at a luxury hotel over seven days, all set against the backdrop of the glamorous Cannes Film Festival.
I recently heard from Mike White, the creator, that this season is really diving into what it means to be famous. He actually told W Magazine he got the idea while he was working on Survivor 50 – it made him think a lot about how people behave when they’re in the spotlight, and that became the core of the new season.

He explained that it’s partially about celebrity and who captures the world’s focus, essentially who’s considered the more important partner, and how that dynamic shapes the relationship.
Everyone has different needs when it comes to feeling loved. Some people are happy with the affection of a close partner, while others thrive on connection with a wider community and enjoy receiving attention from many people.
Mike White has said that each season of The White Lotus explores a different central idea. The first season focused on wealth, the second on sex, and he described the third season as a comedic exploration of death and spirituality as viewed through Eastern religions, as he told Deadline in 2022.
The new season will be filmed in various beautiful locations along the French Riviera, including Monaco, Cannes, and St. Tropez. While some scenes will be shot in Paris, the main story will still take place on the Côte d’Azur.
For the next season of White Lotus, the Château de la Messardière will represent the Sicilian hotel, and the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes will stand in for the hotel in that city.
Okay, so the cast list is finally out, and it’s packed with amazing actors! We’re talking Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan – seriously, a ton of talent. Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz are all on board too. I’m already excited to see what they all bring to the screen!
The film also stars Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer, and Laura Smet.
The White Lotus seasons 1-3 are available on Sky Atlantic, NOW and HBO Max.
