Casey Bloys, head of HBO, has announced that the next season of *The White Lotus* will be filmed in France.
There’s been a lot of talk that France will be the setting for the next season of Mike White’s popular show, which has already filmed in Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand.
At the Emmys on Sunday, September 14th, HBO’s Casey Bloys confirmed rumors that a version of ‘The White Lotus’ will be filmed in France, though specific details and the exact location are still being decided.
When asked about Mike White, the creator of The White Lotus, and his absence from the Emmys, Casey confirmed he likely was in France working on the next season.
Deadline was the first to report the show’s fourth season would be filmed in France. HBO didn’t confirm or deny the report when contacted.
The report suggests the next season might be filmed at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a luxurious hotel located on the French Riviera.

However, sources say a hotel hasn’t been confirmed yet. The show might use several different resorts throughout the season, similar to season 3, which was filmed mainly at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui in Thailand, and also at three other hotels.
While it’s not official yet, a French Four Seasons resort is being considered as the main setting for season 4. France has three Four Seasons locations: in Paris, Megève, and the French Riviera.
The fact that Cap-Ferrat isn’t right on the beach adds to the growing belief it will be where the next season is filmed.
I was really interested to hear what Mike White had to say about season four of *The White Lotus*. He’s mentioned wanting to move away from the very specific, dramatic visual style – all those crashing waves and rocky landscapes – that defined the earlier seasons. But don’t worry, he also hinted that even with a change of scenery, there’s still plenty of room for the show’s signature dark humor and, of course, more murders at those luxurious White Lotus hotels!
