Jake Lacy is known for playing unlikeable and flawed characters, having taken on similar roles in shows like The White Lotus, A Friend of the Family, and Apples Never Fall.
He’s starring in Sky’s new series, All Her Fault, alongside Sarah Snook. They play parents whose lives are turned upside down when their son, Milo, disappears. The story begins when Sarah Snook’s character, Marissa, goes to pick Milo up from a playdate and discovers the host doesn’t recognize either of them, launching a desperate search for answers.
Like all good dramas, the characters in this story are keeping secrets and telling half-truths. Even Lacy’s Peter has something to hide.
How did playing a successful, working father in ‘All Her Fault’ differ from his past acting roles?

It seems like a pattern is emerging, and I really hope it’s just chance and doesn’t reflect something I consistently bring to my characters. I don’t want directors to focus on me portraying a ‘loving father’ when I’m equally capable of playing someone self-absorbed and incapable of love.
He explained that the role is very complex, with a lot of history and hidden truths. The character has a secret he’s been keeping for a long time, but when it’s finally revealed, there’s a chance he could repair the damage it’s caused to his marriage.
Instead, he becomes even more self-assured and judgmental, which ultimately destroys any remaining trust or connection between Peter and Marissa, Sarah’s character.
As to what that secret is, you’ll just have to binge-watch the episodes and find out!
Lacy is well-known for his comedic work on shows like Girls, The Office, and Better With You, but he’s also taken on more serious and complex characters recently.
I was completely captivated by Lacy’s performance in the first season of The White Lotus! She played Shane Patton, and honestly, she was amazing as that incredibly demanding hotel guest. Watching her character get mixed up in all the drama with Armond, played by Murray Bartlett, was just so compelling – she really brought that role to life.
Lacy portrayed both the abuser and kidnapper Robert Berchtold in A Friend of the Family, and recently played venture capitalist Troy Delaney in Apples Never Fall.
In addition to Lacy and Snook, the film All Her Fault also stars Dakota Fanning, Michael Peña, Sophia Lillis, Abby Elliott, Daniel Monks, Jay Ellis, Thomas Cocquerel, Duke McCloud, and Kartiah Vergara.
All Her Fault lands on Sky and NOW as a boxset in the UK on Friday 7th November.
