The Witcher 3 DLC announced as CDPR confirms first expansion in 10 years

CD Projekt Red has officially announced the long-awaited third major expansion for The Witcher 3.

I still remember when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first came out in 2015 – it quickly became one of my favorite RPGs of the decade! And it wasn’t just me, everyone loved it. They even added two huge, amazing expansions – Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine – which just made the whole experience even better.

It’s been ten years since the release of Blood and Wine, and with no sign of The Witcher 4 yet, CD Projekt Red seems to be offering fans a small something to enjoy while they wait for the next game.

The latest expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt lets you continue Geralt of Rivia’s journey on a new adventure.

I’m super excited to share that ‘Songs of the Past,’ a new expansion for The Witcher 3, is coming out in 2027! It’ll be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, so I can finally jump back into that world on my preferred platforms.

Even though The Witcher 3 is playable on Nintendo Switch, and with the newer Switch 2 now available, there’s still no word on whether the ‘Songs of the Past’ expansion will be released for either console. This is likely disappointing news for Nintendo fans.

Even though both The Witcher 4 and the next Cyberpunk game are likely still several years off, CD Projekt Red hopes a new expansion and a remake will keep their dedicated fans happy in the meantime.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past will release in 2027.
