The X-Men Face Off With Alien in New Marvel Crossover (And Kitty Pryde Is Stuck in the Middle)

The X-Men are a hugely popular superhero team, and Xenomorphs – the terrifying aliens from the Alien movies – defined the look of hostile creatures from outer space for an entire generation. Though they come from very different worlds, that’s what makes the idea of these two groups crossing over so interesting! Xenomorphs have appeared in comics before, teaming up with heroes like Superman, Batman, and even the Avengers. Now, these deadly aliens are preparing to face a new challenge: Marvel’s X-Men, who represent the next step in human evolution.

Following the huge popularity of Aliens Vs. Avengers, the terrifying Xenomorphs are now threatening the entire Marvel Universe in a new event, Aliens Vs. X-Men. This comic series sends the X-Men on a space mission to find a Phoenix Egg, but they return to Earth with something far more dangerous: a full-scale Xenomorph invasion! Luckily, the X-Men are no strangers to fighting alien threats, and this series promises the epic showdown fans have been waiting for. As a bonus, renowned writer Chris Claremont is also creating a separate story where the Xenomorphs battle the Brood, with Kitty Pryde right in the middle of the action.

The Children of the Atom Vs. the Universe’s Deadliest Aliens

As a huge fan of both the X-Men and Alien, I’m genuinely excited about this four-part series! It feels like everything we could ask for in a crossover – it just makes sense. The X-Men have always walked that line between superheroics and horror, and the terrifying vibe of the Xenomorphs fits perfectly into their world. So many great X-Men tales are about fighting to survive, and this looks like the ultimate test of that. They’re being hunted, picked off one by one as potential hosts for these creatures, which is intense! But the X-Men aren’t just powerful; they adapt. I think the series will really explore those core themes of the franchise while still delivering a brutal fight for survival against the Xenomorphs.

This comic promises to be amazing thanks to a truly talented creative team. Kieron Gillen has already proven his skill with the X-Men, especially during challenging times – he even wrote about their near-extinction! He’s perfectly suited to write this desperate battle against the Xenomorphs. Artist Geraldo Borges is also a great fit; his recent work on Jessica Jones: Alias powerfully conveyed emotional pain and trauma. But that’s not all—legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont is returning, bringing with him his own terrifying alien race, the Brood, to clash with the Xenomorphs! Plus, he’s also writing Kitty Pryde, guaranteeing this comic will be a hit. Claremont originally defined the X-Men’s horror elements, and he’s back to do it again.

Kieron Gillen explained his deep connection to the Alien franchise, recalling it as the first R-rated movie he ever saw and a major influence on how he learned to build stories. He even had an Alien poster above his bed as a teenager! He’s such a big fan that he finds himself over-explaining plot points – even minor details involving less important characters like Ferro and Dietrich – and is thrilled to be working on a project that feels like a dream come true, comparing it to a fast ride straight into a challenging situation with the X-Men.

Claremont explained he’s excited to revisit this universe and create conflicts between his most dangerous alien creatures and their film versions, with Kitty Pryde caught in the middle. He believes Kitty offers a heroic viewpoint that truly captures what the X-Men are all about. The story will be full of action and unexpected twists.

The first issue of Aliens Vs. X-Men arrives in stores this September! The covers are by artists Ryan Stegman and Ivan Shavrin. You can preorder it now at your local comic book store, or find more details on Marvel.com.
