Microsoft is constantly working to make Cortana better on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. Today, we learned that a new feature – Xbox Live integration – is now available for all Windows 10 users, not just those in the Insider program.
You can find this feature by going to Cortana > Notebook > Connected Accounts, where you’ll also see options for linking LinkedIn, Office 365, and Uber (if you’re an Insider). After you sign in with your Xbox Live account, Cortana can help you with a variety of tasks.
- Stay up to date
- Get insights about your gaming activity
- Provide you with relevant content, updates opportunities and offers
- Notifying you of your friends availability to play
- Scheduling game sessions per your request
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Cortana will soon be available on the Xbox One, especially since the console is getting the Windows 10 update in November. Some users actually tested an early version of Cortana on the Xbox dashboard a while back, though it was temporarily removed. You can find details about that initial experience here.

It’s becoming clear that Cortana will soon be the central place to access everything Microsoft offers.
Currently, linking your account displays a neat countdown timer for Halo 5: Guardians, with a button to find out more.
Thanks, Anthony G., for the tip!
