It feels like a new Chinese action RPG is announced constantly, but Sword of Legends really stands out as a promising game.
This game was originally revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live last August and marks the first time a title in the popular Gujian series will be available in Western markets.
Built using Unreal Engine 5 and slated for release on the PS5, the game will be inspired by classic Chinese stories filled with humans, deities, and spirits coexisting in the same world.
The newest gameplay footage reveals a boss fight against Kong Kong Zi, a unique enemy who fights using elaborate stage magic inspired by centuries-old Chinese traditions. He’s presented as a dramatic performer, with each attack carefully choreographed like a theatrical performance.
Although it might seem similar to other action RPGs at first glance, the game’s visuals are truly striking.
We don’t have a specific release date yet, but the announcement says it’s “coming soon” to PlayStation 5, so it should be available at some point in the near future.
